Who We Are
OUR MANIFESTO
Our manifesto is centred around the belief that football is not a linear, one dimensional game. This is why we not only believe in the path less travelled, but actively promote and provide less-traditional pathways into professional football.
- Develop the person, challenge the player. This phrase is what all FTIFA Coaches live by!
- Football is a game of opinions. These opinions do not define a player’s ability or worth.
- Talented football players can be found all over the world.
- Players can make substantial careers in football without having started at a professional academy at a really young age. Former Fleetwood Town player Jamie Vardy is testament to this.
- Educated footballers are better footballers.
Why Choose Us
THE FLEETWOOD FOOTBALL PHILOSOPHY
When in possession, our objective is to get into the opposition’s final third as efficiently and quickly as possible resulting in attempts on their goal. When out of possession, we counter-press to try and win the ball back immediately. When this is not possible, we fall back into a connected and organised shape and work from there.
The non-negotiables that we expect from all of our players are:
- To play with purpose, looking to dictate with and without the ball.
- To show a willingness to learn on and off the pitch.
- To show a winning mentality in training and in games.
