FTIFA Cape Town offers a unique holistic football journey that sets individuals on a pathway for success on & off the field. We develop the player & challenge the person providing the perfect platform for young players to excel within a world class, structured, professional environment.

Fleetwood Town International Football Academy launches its first African base in 2023, in beautiful Hout Bay, Cape Town.
Following on from the successful FTIFA Academies in England and Dubai, with hundreds of graduates of whom many are already playing professional football, FTIFA Cape Town is set to be the leading residential academy of its type in the country.

Bought by the current owner Andy Pilley in 2004, Fleetwood Town started a record-breaking journey up English football’s pyramid with six promotions in just ten seasons. They currently sit in EFL League One, just two leagues below the English Premier League.

Aside from the meteoric rise of Jamie Vardy who was sold to Leicester City FC in 2012 and went on to win the EPL & play in the 2018 World Cup, Fleetwood Town have a world wide reputation for producing young talent, with seven current young internationals in the squad. In 2022 alone 15 club-developed players have appeared for the first team, with three moving up into higher divisions. Including James Hill England U20 Captain who now plays in the EPL for AFC Bournemouth.

What’s not included?

  • School Fees and peripherals at UCT Online High School (or similar). UCT Online High School offers both the South African CAPS syllabus and the Cambridge syllabus. Your online studying experience is enhanced and supported through tutors and personal mentoring and coaching. 
  • PRO CV. Development of an online PRO football CV, with analytics breakdown, video analysis, and edited highlightsreels along with management of PRO social media accounts, templates & regular content updates. All shared into our professional networks to increase your exposure. 
  • An offsite option is also available for those who want the FTIFA experience but will have dinner, bed and breakfast at home (R4 500 per month). Lunch, football training, kit, HBUFC club registration and gym access are all still included.

Jamie Vardy joined Fleetwood Town from semi-professional side Halifax Town in 2011 on his first professional contract. He went on to score 36 goals in 31 games for the club, helping FTFC gain promotion to the Football league in 2012.

Sold to Leicester City in a deal worth £1.7m in 2012, Jamie famously went on to win the Premier league and play for England’s national team on numerous occasions  including at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

RISING STAR Defender James Hill joined Fleetwood Town’s academy at the age of 14 and worked his way through the age groups. James made his first team debut in 2018 at the age of 16 and played 33 times for the first team. He received a call up for the England U20 national team in September 2021, captained and scored for them in October 2021 before being promoted to the U21s. James was sold to Bournemouth in January 2022 for a club record £1.4m and is now playing Premier league football. Bournemouth and England U20s



Spurs Academy graduate and junior Scotland International, Phoenix has moved to FTFC from sister club Waterford FC after having a big impact and impressing in their successful 2021-22 League of Ireland First division campaign.


SOUTH AFRICA TO DUBAI After spending his junior years at the Ajax Cape Town Academy, Kyle moved to Western Cape Fleetwood playing in the Third tier of SA football. After a successful 2021-22 campaign he gained a transfer to Dubai sister club, Fleetwood United, where he’s now starting and scoring regularly in the 1st team and on the verge of signing his first professional contract.

HBUFC compete in the second tier of South African football with a vision to progress to the top of the SA pyramid, the PSL. Hout Bay have an excellent reputation for developing talent with an acdemy structure competing in the High Peformance league against PSL sides and several young players that have already gone on to play in Europe and for the SA International team. A heart & soul football club that is 50% owned by the HBUFC Trust, HBUFC provides excellent opportunitites on and off the field for players from the Hout Bay community & now provides the base for the FTIFA PATHWAY TO SUCCESS programme, a world class hollistic football & education programme geared towards opening pathways for careers in football both on and off the field.
