Fleetwood Town International Football Academy FTIFA provides a unique experience for all participants to sample what it is like to train like the pro’s. Our aim is to empower all participants, develop character and provide opportunities to fulfil their potential through a life changing experience in a unique, challenging and motivating learning environment. As one of the UK’s leading sport learning and development centres, we offer a wide range of packages to suit the needs and ability of any player or team – regardless of age or gender. Bespoke packages can be tailored for any duration, which give a team or individual not only the chance to experience the day-to-day life of a professional football player, but also the opportunity to be in the environment of a professional football club. FLEETWOOD TOWN INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY players will follow the FTFC club ethos which aims to improve players technically, tactically, physically and mentally. We will also provide specific workshops to help the players understand other areas of the game and to develop personally as individuals.All FTIFA coaches will be existing FTFC elite academy coaches with a wealth of experience in youth and player development. Individual development will be regularly monitored & discussed with club scouts & first team coaches. Individual Learning Programs and weekly player evaluations will take place to ensure that training is tailored to every players needs with new individual targets being set regularly.


The programme offers players aged 15-22 years an opportunity to develop and play within The Fleetwood Football Group’s first class facilities alongside our experienced UEFA qualified coaching staff. The programme offers tangible pathways into professional football around the world. It includes:
  • One month Pre Season period at the Fleetwood Town first team training complex, Poolfort Farm.
  • TFive months season in Dubai training with our professional sister club Fleetwood United FC in the UAE second division.
  • Gain an insight into the football industry with player development from coaching and management and sports analysis.
  • Guarantee of senior and professional football at either u23 or first team level with FLeetwood United.
  • Pathway into professional football with all clubs part of the Fleetwood Football Group.
  • Employment opportunities within other sectors of the football industry.
  • Guarantee of senior and professional football at either u23 or 1st team with Fleetwood United FC.
  • Pathway in FTFC group pro football clubs (FTFC, FUFC, WCFC).
  • Employment opportunities with other sectors in football.


FTIFA is enhanced through the use of its state of the art £10 million Poolfoot Farm training facility where participating teams and individuals can sample and train on one of the most prestigious training complexes that the North West of England has to offer. Participants are able to enjoy full use of the first team and academy facilities with coaching by our UEFA qualified staff. With access to our state-of-the-art, full-size synthetic pitches, participants are able to train all year round, as adverse weather conditions cause minimum disruption to our training schedules. The complex was opened by Sir Alex Ferguson (former Manchester United Manager) in April 2016 and features the below:

Jamie Vardy joined Fleetwood Town from semi-professional side Halifax Town in 2011 on his first professional contract. He went on to score 36 goals in 31 games for the club, helping FTFC gain promotion to the Football league in 2012.

Sold to Leicester City in a deal worth £1.7m in 2012, Jamie famously went on to win the Premier league and play for England’s national team on numerous occasions  including at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

RISING STAR Defender James Hill joined Fleetwood Town’s academy at the age of 14 and worked his way through the age groups. James made his first team debut in 2018 at the age of 16 and played 33 times for the first team. He received a call up for the England U20 national team in September 2021, captained and scored for them in October 2021 before being promoted to the U21s. James was sold to Bournemouth in January 2022 for a club record £1.4m and is now playing Premier league football. Bournemouth and England U20s



Spurs Academy graduate and junior Scotland International, Phoenix has moved to FTFC from sister club Waterford FC after having a big impact and impressing in their successful 2021-22 League of Ireland First division campaign.


SOUTH AFRICA TO DUBAI After spending his junior years at the Ajax Cape Town Academy, Kyle moved to Western Cape Fleetwood playing in the Third tier of SA football. After a successful 2021-22 campaign he gained a transfer to Dubai sister club, Fleetwood United, where he’s now starting and scoring regularly in the 1st team and on the verge of signing his first professional contract.
